I want to help at a protest
Great! We need lots of volunteers to help things run smoothly on event days. Available volunteer roles outlined in details below. Please email your contact information and the role you are interested in to: nh50501.volunteers@gmail.com
STREETS & STAIRS CREW This is our biggest need. We're looking for lots of people to keep protesters out of the roads (for safety reasons) and off the State House steps (required by the state). It's a big ask but we really need these folks. You would work either the first half or the second, unless of course you wanted to do both. Requirements: * Assertiveness and patience. * If you sign up for a shift, please plan on staying for the entire time. * You should be able to stand (or sit, if you use a mobility device) in place for the full duration of your shift. Of course if you need a quick break we can arrange that. * While you are on duty, you will need to wear a red vest that we will provide. * While you are on duty, you will not be able to participate in the protest (hold signs, attend speeches) in the usual way. * You must be willing to use the Signal app (encrypted messaging) on your phone to communicate with the rest of the team.
SET-UP CREW We need two strong people to help set up for the event. This involves getting tables, pop-up tents, etc out of a nearby trailer, carrying them onto the grounds and setting them up. Requirements: * You must be willing to use the Signal app (encrypted messaging) on your phone to communicate with the rest of the team. * Please arrive near the State House steps at least one hour before the event starts and stay until the job is done (probably about an hour). * You should be able to move briskly throughout the hour, lift and carry 30 pounds or more.
TABLE MINDERS Our events always have a table for water and snacks. We’ll be breaking this up into two shifts; each shift will cover half the event. Requirements: * Outgoing, not stressed by talking to strangers * Arrive at least 15 minutes before your shift starts for briefing and to get settled. * If you can help set up / break down your table that's ideal but not required. * Bring your own chair. * During your shift, you will not be able to participate in the protest (hold signs, attend speeches) in the usual way. * You must agree to the full duration of your shift and not leave early. If you need a quick break that can easily be arranged.
RUNNER We need one person to move between the organizers for communication and item delivery the day of the protest. Requirements: * You must be willing to use the Signal app (encrypted messaging) on your phone to communicate with the rest of the team. * Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the event starts and stay until it ends. * You should be able to move briskly throughout the event. * You will not be able to participate in the protest (hold signs, attend speeches) in the usual way.
CLEAN-UP CREW We need several strong people to help clean up after the event. This involves moving tables, pop-up tents, etc back to a nearby trailer, walking the grounds to make sure all trash was properly disposed of, etc.
I want to help financially
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
One thing that would help is if you sponsored a permit. Reserving space at the State House is free, but the City of Concord requires that we pay approximately $50 per event. Reach out to nh50501.volunteers@gmail.com and let us know.

You could also donate to our current GoFund Me that will cover porta-potties (our biggest expense by far) and a couple other things for the next event: October 18th Protest
